Top 4 UK beaches to visit in your motorhome this Summer

We might not have the green light for our favourite overseas destinations but motorhome travel is well and truly on the green list. Check out the following UK beaches that are the closest to feeling abroad!

If you weren’t able to tick those hot countries off your bucket list this summer why not just add on some different locations, slightly closer to home!

With countries flying on and off the green list on a daily basis it’s a much safer bet to swap the wings for wheels and start planning your summer UK road trip.

Unless you’ve explored every nook and cranny of the British coast you might be pleasantly surprised with what you find dotted around its perimeter…here are the top four beaches we recommend to feel as close to foreign shores as possible.

Porthcurno Beach, Cornwall.

*As shown in the image. If you’re looking for a piece of paradise this summer, Porthcurno Beach is the place for you! Located in the far west of Cornwall, this gorgeous beach is covered in fine soft white sand, surrounded by a turquoise bay and granite cliffs on both sides providing shelter. It’s also both family and dog friendly, with natural rock pools to paddle in and a long stretch of beach to explore.

Blackpool Sands Beach, Devon.

This beach has all the character of a holiday abroad, but is conveniently just a drive away from wherever you are in the UK! Blackpool Sands is a Blue Flag Award-winning beach surrounded by evergreens and scented pines, giving it a Mediterranean feel. It’s one of the most popular family beaches in the area and is also on the South West Coast path, making it an ideal starting point to walk along with the beautiful South Devon coastline.

Durdle Door, Dorset.

Part of The Jurassic Coast World Heritage site, Durdle Door is one of Dorset’s most iconic beaches and beauty sites. Its cove and limestone arch makes it a popular photography location, and the spectacular scenery can be taken in while relaxing on a shingle beach rich in fossils. Once you’ve parked your motorhome or vehicle in the car park above, the beach is accessible by a 15-minute walk from the South West Coast Path.

Joss Bay, Kent

If you are looking for a beach that offers both leisure time and activity then Joss Bay in Kent might be the place for you. It’s Kent’s best-known surfing destination and has the longest established surf school on the coast. Behind its steep chalk cliffs also lies the North Foreland golf course if you prefer a drier sport. The beach itself stretches for 200 metres and has the full English seaside experience; offering a beach cafe, toilets, plenty of car parking and deck-chair hire.

Travel the coast in style - hire a motorhome and visit all four beaches this summer!
