Top 4 destinations for your motorhome winter break

Get cosy in your motorhome this winter at one of these four festive destinations.

Motorhome adventures don’t end after summer; they are meant to be enjoyed all year round and sometimes the most magical trips happen during the winter months. You can enjoy popular and scenic areas of the UK without the usual crowd invasions, as well as take advantage of cheaper, off-peak prices.

Whether you fancy a spot of Christmas Shopping, a walk in a winter wonderland, or even a trip far up North to catch the Northern Lights, one of these destinations will capture your heart this winter.

1.Chatsworth Christmas Market, Derbyshire

6 November 2021–24 November 2021 Chatsworth Christmas market is the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping, with over 100 market stalls offering Christmas gifts and decorations. If you fancy taking a break from shopping, there’s plenty of outdoor bars to enjoy mulled wine, some German beer or sample some delicious food. There’s also live music which will help you get in the festive spirit! Discover available camping sites near Chatsworth Christmas Market.

2.Scotland, The Northern Lights

You have a good chance of seeing the northern lights if you take a trip up to the Scottish wilderness this winter. The cold and dark skies make the perfect conditions for witnessing the phenomenon. With a motorhome, you can experience the aurora from the comfort of your own bed! Park somewhere remote, away from light pollution, then look north. We recommend parking in Applecross, which can be reached by a stunning drive along with one of Britain’s highest roads.

3.Cotswolds, South West England

Explore the magic of the Cotswolds’ tiny high streets this winter. (As seen in the film, The Holiday!) Enjoy countless country walks, wind through wooded hills and visit churches decorated for Christmas. You can then warm up afterwards beside a delightful fire in a quaint pub. The main attraction is Blenheim Palace, which is lit up from the end of November, with a trail through its gardens and grand, Nutcracker-themed rooms.

4.Christmas lights by the coast, Cornwall

From twinkling harbours to brightly lit tiered streets, Cornwall’s Christmas light displays are a thing of beauty. Travelling in a motorhome creates endless possibilities for those wanting to explore the coast in all its glory. The Mousehole Lights are the most famous but there are wonderful displays elsewhere in the county.
